what exactly did you do?

1. clear all codes by holding outside buttons
2. program remote to mirror. hold remote to mirror and hold button, make sure sensor on remote is pointing to mirror
3. If newer garage opener, push "learn" button on garage opener
4. Within 30 seconds, hold the same button you linked up to in step 2

If you take your time and watch the blinking lights to make sure each step syncs up, should be rather simple.

I've reprogrammed mine several times, lastly when replaced my mirror due to the TSIB, and never had any problems.

If all this still does not work, put fresh batteries in your garage remote, and try again.

I'm glad you figured it out. Newer garage door openers have rolling codes to prevent burglars from stealing your code. That's why you have to push the red button behind the motor for the home link to learn the rolling code.
