Default Silly idea? Change my parking lights from super white to....

Yellow to attempt to match my 3000k hid Fogs?

Currently have the super white led in there to closely match my 6000k hids. One of them is out. Thinking of taking this oppurtunity to try out a yellow running LED.

Anyone done it? Are the yellow 194 bulbs really yellow? Or are they amber?

Because its different, and I drive with my headlights/foglights on all the time. I'm figuring the light would be nowhere near as broad or bright as the stock lamps. The super white beam pattern would make me believe a similar LED would give me the yellow cast, without the halogen/stock look.

go for it, but from all the reading I have heard and starting do it myself, that sure is a lot of work to get to that city light and stick a yellow one in there. That was the whole goal in the first place to replace them with non yellowish looking ones??

btw, when you first changed out your city lights how long did it take you per side?

Have you switched out BOTH the DRLs and the city lights? As mentioned above, please list which bulbs you went with.

I'd like to have my DRLs and City lights match closely with my oem HID headlights. Also, I'd like to have "HID looking" fogs. Do you happen to know which bulbs most closely match the color of the oem HID bulbs?

thanks!

Joe Z where did you order your Polargs from? I think I found a decent price here, but don't trust yahoo stores.

Also, which DIY thread did you use to do your citylights? I started with the one, but ended up saying screw it. If you could do it in 15min, then i am back in.

Also, give the sylvania siliver stars a try on your fogs. They are cheap and are way less yellow than the stock ones you have. That seriously takes only 5min to switch out.

Yes

I went with new Polarg M4's for my city lights and a set of Falcon "HID Look" DRL Bulbs which i have had for like 4 years in my garage..

For fogs I went with the Yellow Nokya Fog light bulbs..

Here are the product pics of two I found online.. I think the Falcons are no longer available..
I take a pic of the box as soon as I can.

Thats a good price.. I buy mine at a local parts shop here in So Cal

I have been using the Polarg M4's for a long time and I am very happy with them... As a matter of fact I bought 5 packets...
I put 3 in the front dome light and they look great... I will be installing the same bulbs in the side view mirrors and the front doors once I get the clear reflectors for them..

I purposely went with the Nokya Yellow fog light bulbs as I am very happy with that look.. I am original IS300 owner, so I'm just following my roots..

I didn't use a DIY thread. However, I did call my buddy "Pocky" for some quick over the phone tips..
If you can do an exhaust install, this is a piece of cake...
