Default Good Price to pay on a IS250 AWD in NJ?

I got some internet price quotes from some of the local dealers and the best I have gotten is 3,000 off sticker and they say they might be able to go a little lower if I'm willing to buy a car ASAP that is currently on the lot. MSRP is 36,572 and their price is 33,572. How much lower could I reasonably go? I also have the $750 Taste of Lexus coupon.

Thanks

Depends on what options you have...I got Navi, Preferred Package, Premium Package, Luxury Package, and OEM HID (one of the first 07's on my dealer's lot) for about 39K including all taxes and title fees. MSRP for my IS250 AWD was around 43K so it wasn't the greatest deal but nevertheless wasn't a bad deal either. I went to Lexus of Englewood and if you ever want to give them a shot, talk to Micheal Stella. BTW are you buying an 07 or 08?

With the MSRP of 36,572 the car has the HID's and the premium package which has the perforated leather seats. And this would be an 08. The 2007's are long gone.

I can get you a goos price at ray catena in oakhurst. Just let me know your best price and I'll talk to my saleswomen to see if she could beat it.

With a MSRP of $36,572 for that IS250 AWD they offered 3,000 off sticker on the spot. I'm thinking I can ask for $3,500 off sticker. Does that sound pretty reasonable?

Although I didn't buy my '07 from Ray Catena, they were willing to match the price I had from my PA dealer of about $4400 off of MSRP. Did you check Edmunds or MSN Autos to see if they have the '08 invoice? My price was about $6-700 above the dealer invoice.

If you are in southern Jersey, try calling Lexus of Chester Springs, PA too. They had great pricing when I bought in the spring.

Also--I recently spoke to someone who used to sell cars, and he said the internet sales people are typically not the top notch of the dealership, and you may be able to get a better deal talking with the showroom sales staff.

First year popular models are tough to get a big discount on.One dealer told me later on that Lexus didn't import enough units.

3,500 off is very reasonable, the dealership you're working with should be able to get you that discount. They're still making a little profit as they should and you still get a good discount. It's a win win for the both of you.

The key question is how much OVER invoice are you, as opposed to how much under MSRP? My '07 price was about 2% over invoice. Edmunds and CR usually target 3-4% over invoice as a "fair" price.

But definitely call Ray Catena...
