For the IS' that came with stock HID, swapping out the whole projector gonna be a big job since it has all that ASF/bixenon crap.

Yeah that's true, with the stock HID it is going to be icky. But since I had the halogen headlights it was cake, it just took time to see how I was going to mount it and to see if anything was going to get in the way.

I wanted to push the washer out on my car but I am hesitating about baking my Lexus' headlight in the oven lol. I'm not confident enough to do it on this car yet. BEside, I wasn't sure if the washer mod even work and worth the effort. Do you think the stock HID lens is different than the halogen lens?

Also, for those of you that don't think the stock HID has the flicker effect, think again. Since my car is slammed, I raised the headlight up a bit, from far away it does flicker a blue/whiteish color. I was gonna change my bulbs to 6000k but after I saw that, I was thinking "nahhhhh that's pretty enough and won't compromise the light output".

[ I was thinking "nahhhhh that's pretty enough ...[/QUOTE]

So the whole point to this "mod" is to have "pretty" headlights?

I didn't use the oven to open up my headlights, I used a heat gun. I think I opened it up like a total of 15 times maybe? Plus this was my very first retrofit ever, so lots of trial and error. But you learn from it. For the difference between the halogen and HID projector lens its about the same both of them are fresnel and the Halogen is 3" and the HID one is 2.5".

Taking off the front bumper isnt that hard, its putting it back on!! LOL cause you have to make sure the bottom clips stay put and are lined up properly. For a heads up, have an extra person with you!

I had time because I was using my gf's car, she doesn't drive her car that much anyways. It's actually not that hard to remove/put back the bumper, after so many times it only took me 20 mins to remove and put back on. It actually took me a month to complete the project because I only worked on it during my off days.
