Question To trade or not to trade???

Ok guys heres my dilemma. I currently work for a VW dealer in northern California and my manager is offering me an invoice deal for me to get out of my year old AWD 250 for an 2008 R32. I like the power and AWD of the R32 but i love the ammenities in the Lexus.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

That's a real tough choice. I think this is a decision you have to make yourself. R32 is nice and not many people will have it but the 2IS has the feature's department and reliability on lock. You shouldn't have to worry about reliability though since you work at w VW dealership anyway but it's definitely a tough choice. For daily driving, nothing beats a 2IS but the r32 will be a great weekend car. The R32 is limited to 5,000 so to get it at invoice is a great deal. I'll probably trade in my IS250 for that deal.

R32 is fugly. Plus, it's a VW. Stick with your IS. Sorry to be so blunt but you wanted opinions and that's mine.

This thread really isn't necessary, you've already made up your mind anyways. Its also not comparing apples to apples. But the R32 if its anything like the previous generation will have a very very very good resale value.

So what your saying is that Lexus is better than VW....? I'm not going to turn this into a VW vs Lexus debate but thats narrow mindedness right there.

I would say that you should stick with your IS250, no offense, but I think Volkswagens SUCK!

I personally would get the R32. I like the way it looks (especially in grey), and it has more power, a sportier driving experience, and a truly stellar transmission. YMMV...a test drive should tell.

That is also provided that I wasn't going to lose too much money on the deal.

I would do it... The Lexus is much more boring compared to the R32.

I, on the other hand, find that the R32 looks really good.

If it's a lease, I would say go for it. Might as well give it a shot.

Then, you can always go back to Lexus.

If it's a purchase, then you really have to think hard: what will be a better long time companion in your garage? A Lexus or a V-Dub...

$3-$5k on a supercharger, a haldex controller, supersprint exhaust, and H&R coilovers (or Bilstein PSS9's) and you've got yourself a seriously fun car.
Plus the VW community are for the most part some of the nicest guys around (it's a mixed bag with the "lex-***" community). But then again your moving from the junior exec entry level luxury sedan to the boy racer hot hatch (with hit and miss reliablity)- your call- who do you want to be?
