Just do it your self $40 oil/fiter ,$60 filters for engine & a/c, $10 wiper inserts and if your wheels are out of balance then go get it done .its may cost from $60-$100 if done at dealer or a small shop.

not happy VERY happy.
$80 got me the following.
An oil change/filter $40.
Correct all fluids $20 (if you consider having to buy every fluid to top it off, probably spend more then $20)
They balanced all four tires ($40?)
Measured my thread depth, brake pad wear. (Tho it does nothing for me its helpful to have an indication on where you are at in tire life, same for brake pads, saves my time)
Reset computer (expensive tool ?)
Cleaned my filters (nothin special but saves me the time)
"lubricated all hinges/joints" (wonder if thats true)
Provided engine carbon build up status (wouldnt know how the hell to check that myself)
They are other thing I didnt mention as I dont have the checklist in front of me.
so yes I am happy seeing as others here have paid over $300.

You said 40k service. Nobody paid $300 for their 40k service since it doesn't involve anything but an oil change.
All the other stuff on your list is total BS.
Wheel balance- this is generally lifetime free if your tires are from any decent chain (and at 40k you've surely replaced your tires by now)
"reset your computer"- all that does it turn off the oil change reminder light, and your owners manual tells you how to do it by pushing a button on your dash for free.
"top off all fluids" uh what fluids? Wiper fluid? That's lke 99 cents a gallon and takes 30 seconds. Nothing else in your car should have been low to begin with as the rest are closed systems.
"clean your filters" again, huh? the filters in the car, OEM, aren't reusable. So at best they pulled out the cabin filter (takes 30 seconds in your glovebox) and whacked it against something to knock some dust off. More likely they did nothing at all. Further, since these should've been replaced entirely at 30k they ought not have been especially in need of "cleaning" anyway.
"Provided engine carbon build up status" - they provided status on a problem that your car doesn't even have? (the carbon building issue is on 250s, not 350s... and short of opening up your motor or using a boroscope they couldn't really give you much "status" on it anyway and I assure you they did neither)
etc...
So yes, I'm afraid you paid $80 for an oil change.

I bought my winter tires in 12/09, less than year after I bought my vehicle new. The place I bought it from wouldn't give me lifetime balance though. My summers are dead and I'll be buying new ones. I'm hoping to buy another set of rims so I don't have to worry about unmounting my winters off my stock rims again. Going to try and find another place which will give me lifetime balance. With my Hondas I had tire stuff done at walmart and I always liked the work they did (I could hang out there and watch them too). But they weren't able to do anything w/ my tires since they're so low profile
