Lextasy,
The air bags did not deploy because the vehicle in front was towing a flat trailer which was high. The impact on the front of my vehicle was just about1/4 inch above the air bag sensor. The guy at the impound lot pointed this out. He said that if it was any lower the air bag would have gone off.
Rashood,
Not sure what you mean by what really happened. I stopped behind a car (with a trailer in front of me). They were turning left. I then got hit in the back and pushed forward into the trailer. The impact was not dead center due to the fact that the vehicle in front was turning. Both my vehicle and the vehicle that hit me were dead on impact and could not be moved until the towing company moved them. My car shut itself off. When we tried to restart it had electrical power but the engine made a grinding/screeching noise and then the car shut itself off again. After that it would not start again. This is it, fairly simple, if I am not explaining something then ask more specifically.

YIKES!!! ![Yikes!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/yikes.gif)
First let me say I'm glad you weren't injured.
Secondly, if your insurance company tries to fix the car you should do everything in your power to argue them to total it out. You don't want that car back - it'll never drive the same not matter how good of a body shop you have.
Get them to total it out , take the money to use towards a 2008.
Good luck man and please keep us posted.

The insurance company will total it and someone will buy it and fix it. It will be like new in some ways, and not like new in others depending on who buys it and whether they fix it for themselves or fix it to sell.
