Some serious work with some aggressive rubbing compund can fix most of it...NOT...Glad you are OK...it it costs more to fix than its worth..the its totaled.

Surprised the bags didn't deploy.

wow...I don't know any frame damage then its total unless the damage exceeds 75% of the cars value, which for you is 25,000 +/- 2,500....hummmm

Look closely in I believe the third picture and you'll see the frame on the front is pushed back. Its hell to push a frame back to spec and also he mentioned the fuse box is pushed up and about.......not a good day. Anyways glad to see you ok take it easy and hey the MY08 has a nice little coin holder.

Molexus... i just took a look.. from the picture if seems like it got hit high.. like under a truck... anyhow there is frame damage just around the headlight area.. but the chassis doesn't seem to be damaged... to me i think it's totally doable... a good place can align the minor front end area.. i seems like it pushed the radiator in , but didn't get to the engine...

im guessing 12k~15k

So is there sensors all over the car? Like where are the sensors for the airbags for a frontal or side impact? How does it work??? Im just curious because a few years back my sister was driving her 98 Honda Civic and a chair fell of a truck in front of her and it flew into her windshield and the car shut it self off and wouldnt turn back on. The airbags didnt deploy or anything and it was just a smashed windshield.

I`m going to be the only one to say it may be fixed. The air bags did not deploy and none of the finders are hitting the doors, so theirs not likely much frame damage. Also the rear corner panels are not crumpled. I`m just going by the pics though. The front looks worse than it is. That core support is the thinest weakest metal on the car its only there to hold the condenser etc.. Plus the head light on the pass side and finder looks fine. I`d say @ 10 to 12k to fix which would not total the car, the cars worth 33k. But like i said just going off the pics. Sorry about your car! Now the explorer on the right is totaled. Can you tell the diff between the two.

I'm going to say no because the damage is not that sever and no airbags deployed.

I think airbags only deploy in a "life or death" situation? Airbags can cause you injury - airbag burns or even a broken nose if you're sitting too close to steering wheel?

Also, the car itself is built to "absorb" most of the impact.

I'm just glad no one was hurt. Cars are replaceable - people and body parts are not.
