20 inch rims on my 2007 IS350
i have this major problem with my rims... i got 20in rims and lowered it with Espelir's lowering springs...i forgot how much is the drop but i remember it was the same with the tein's spring... and the tires of the front are 225/35R20... Rear tires are 255/35R20... and now it scraps(don't know how to spell) whenever theres a little bump... and then i took it back to the shop and had them cut inside the fender the plastic piece and it still scraps... i'm just wondering... how to not SCRAP! can anyone with the 20's tell me? what you've done w/o scrapping or maybe i should change it to 19' in the front? please help~~!!

What is your wheel set up? I am not too familiar with offsets but what are your offsets?
My guess is that your offsets are aggressive. I am running 20x8.5 (245/30/20) and I was rubbing like a ***** then I cut the metal bolt underneath and helped quite a lot. Still rubs once in a while.

I'm running 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear lowered on Tein CS with no problems. My guess is that like Hartawan (note for Hartawan: take some more pics, I LOVE your car...) was saying, you probably have a set of wheels with an aggressive offset, or you might want to consider changing the tires so that you have some that have a lower profile than the ones you currently have. If you have the wrong offsets for your wheels, no matter what you do to the tires/fenders, the wheels will still rub. Please take some pics of the wheels on the car, and we can probably help you a little bit better in regards to determining if the wheel offset is the problem, just make sure you take a couple of side shots, so that we can see how close the wheels are to the fenders.

How about you go buy an SUV and put those 20's on it. Simply put if you have 20's and have done everything including cutting you fenders which mind you were talking about a 40 to 50k car here and still has the issue. its a clue bro, either get smaller rims or maybe this car is just not the rigth car for you!

To the OP, your best bet right now is to get a different set of wheels. 225/30 tire for the front is pushing it. That is very very very thin tire to put in the front, one little pot hole and then you're done. If I run 225 for my front I should have no rubbing whatsoever. I run 245 for the extra protection for the rims. Get a different set of wheels with better offset.

20's
I've also never heard of anyone else using your set up..225/35 front and 255/35 in the rear?
IS250's usually go 235/30/20 front and 275/30/20 rear
IS350's usually go 245/30/20 front and 285/25/20 rear
Understanding your rubbing like crazy it's probably due to the thickness being too large ?
