if this beta test is like other beta tests i've heard about, i'm pretty sure you are not supposed to comment on the product, how it works, the price, the deal, or anything that you learned about the product....no pictures, no release dates, no nothing. you're not supposed to even acknowledge that you are part of the test. especially in a public forum. at least that's the way the tivo and slingbox beta trials worked.

I emailed them yesterday and they told me I could already order the SL2Vi for $350 which wouldnt be bad if it worked while the car was in motion. They told me it has to be in park.. in other words this product is lame...

i don't think the sl2vi has anything to do with the car being in motion or not. it just plays. if you want to watch dvds while in motion, you have to "do something else" like the hack. that's what i'm hoping, i've not seen the sl2vi in action yet.

edit: can't say for sure if the sl2vi has a limitation built in for motion as well, it may or may not. seems to me that if your car currently cannot play videos while in motion, the addtion of the sl2vi won't change that.

hmm well they said it wont work in motion.. but if theres a nav hack that is easy to do and will make it work in motion then that would be good

That's correct. With the beta that I'm involved with (nothing to do with the IS), I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement as a prerequisite for participation.
