Default Lexus IS350 vs 2008 Cadillac CTS DI

Well this is my first time posting, but I been on this forum reading n researching this car for a while now....I am looking to purchase a new car at this point (coming from a 03 Acura RSX-S)...and now I finally narrowed down my choices to two cars..and both have the pros n cons, but I am stuck on what to get.....fully loaded IS350 or 08 Cadi CTS DI.....only gripe i have about the CTS is the bluetooth feature they left out (in reality doesn't bother too much cuz I know you can install an aftermarket one).....n the other thing is the sunroof shade...which kind of doesn't shut out sunlight 100 percent, but aside from that, I am in love with these two cars, test drove them both, and love them both......the Cadi I want comes to a little over $45k....n the IS comes to a little under $44k......I would appreciate some feedback from you guys..........thanks so much in advance...

Ultimately, it depends on your priorities. I say test drive both extensively, think about what you are looking for in a car, and then decide.

If that doesn't help, then perhaps consider the dealer experience for each brand, as well as the reliability and resale value down the road.

I really like the way the Caddy looks, inside and especially out. But the reliability and fit/finish scares me to no end.

I think the new Caddy is superb. I'm not huge on the "image" but its much larger than the IS, has great power with the DI engine, the interior is WOW to me and the front end styling is very aggressive. I have not driven one and reviews are mixed, some say it drives sporty, others say its still okay.

Good luck, the IS is clearly a fantastic car in its own right. Fastest in class, best dealer service and reliability and great features. Its main issue is back seat room.

Since you like both cars equally and the price is about the same I think it will come down to reliability and resale value. In this case Lexus would be a better choice (and you get bluetooth from factory.)

aren't they in two different class of cars? I meant, I can't imagine myself driving that caddy and I'm in my mid 20. Also for the same price, I would never take a Caddy over a Lexus.

Both are really good cars IMO. Like the others said, resale and reliability are two things to consider. If you happen to be the life of the party and always plan to drive everyone around, then maybe the Cadi would be the more sensible pick, since the Cadi has got tons of back seat room compared to the Lex. It's also the best bang for the buck of the two. You get 5 series size for 3 series money.

If you plan to keep this new car for at least 10yrs. Lexus is the only way to go.

The only Caddys I would ever consider getting coming with a V after the model designation. Even then, I would expect gobs of probs.

Caddys are meh... I personally believe they are ugly and ginormous looking and they seem like a car more for a old person... But if you want alot of room I guess it'll suit you...
