I was making a slight left turn this am and my left wheel went over a slight bump in the road at about 15 mph. Now, this is not one of those teeth shattering potholes, just a slight bump. The next thing I know, I heard a "thump" coming from what seem like the driver's door or underbody area. Feels like a rock hitting the car or something came loose. Then I noticed the info screen flashing "front left door open". The door was in the lock position but was loose and held by the secondary latch. I opened the door and slammed it this time and everything went back to normal. I'm pretty sure I closed the door tight the first time and going over other numerous bumps for the past 5 miles were ok. And I'm sure the warning light just came on because I was checking my gas mileage just a minute earlier. No accidents, no body damage previously. Cause for concern? or maybe I just didn't close the door hard enough in the first place?

Its happened to me before when I had my friend (he is over 250lbs 6'2) sitting in the back behind the passenger as I was making a sharp left turn I hear a beep and my dash lights up "rear right door open" but it happens when someone leans on the door.......

I'd write it off as one of those freak things that just happened for some unknown reason. I wouldn't put much stock into it unless it happens more than once.

lol lexus should have a warning: if ur big then there might be a slight chance that u fall out of the car when there is a bump

same with me!!! im only 5'8" and 150lbs and when i make sharp right turns my body pushes against the door and the indicator tells me the door is open. i dont think much of it though, guess its really sensitive

it's not just the indicator!, the door is actually loose like when you don't close it tight enough. Oh well, guess I'll have to strap myself down really tight from now on

its fine nothing to worry about if it pops open u got the seat belt to hold u in if your one of them who dont wear the seat belt then have fun falling out lol...

well actually it is a big deal. if the door pops open like that and lexus is aware of it, there will be a recall....for sure.

That happened to me too. It's more noticeable at night, as then the dome light comes on. Since I was taking the turn fast, I didn't figure out which door it was. Glad that it's not just me.
