VSC with Check Engine Light
I just came across this website while searching for others with Check VSC warning light. I have a 2007 IS 250 AWD, heres my problem: About 2 weeks ago the CHeck VSC indicator as well as the check engine light, the red triangle warning light and the yellow traction control lights came on. Took it into local auto shop and they ended up replacing the EVAP Cannister Assembly. (upon recommendation from the nearest Lexus Service Center which is 350 miles away). Everything has been fine for exactly 7 days and now I am getting all of the lights again. The car is not driving any different and the lights dont go on and off. No problems with the car shutting off while I am driving. I have checked the gas cap which is fine and I don't see how it could possible have anything to do with the cold. It was -40 degrees F on Saturday and there were no issues. The lights came on yesterday when it was about -10.
Any suggestions?

First let me say I lOVE not having to go to the dealership. Working with a local auto shop is so much better, probably the fact that I am paying them helps.
Heres a shocker, the codes are all the same as the first time P043F, P2401, P2402, and P2419 indicating a problem with the EVAP pump again. So the guys think it realy might be cold weather related. They said I have probably put it though tougher "cold weather testing" than the manufacturer ever does. They reset the lights and will investigate further causes of the problem, I'll post as soon as I know more.

So I took my car to Lexus and left it with them two weeks ago. Right now I'm driving a POS nissan versa rental - not a fan. They supposedly have a "cold weather testing team" in town comprised of engineers from Canada, the US, Japan and Europe, and they can't figure it out either. At this point, I just want a new car. This problem has been happening since April 2007 and I'm getting seriously peeved that they can't find the problem. ARGH! My car has less than 23000 Kilometres on it and is basically brand new - I've followed all the maintenance and only the dealer has touched my car other than when I had winter tires installed the first winter I had it back in '06...

I just had my 2IS back in for the CEL/VSC light. This is the second time it's come on. I brought my car in, and they checked her out and told me that they had to replace a $600 charcoal canister which is part of the emission control system. Since they didn't have the part in stock, the special ordered it for me and I kept my car and drove it for another couple of days with the light on. I got the call that my part had come in, so I made an appointment to get the part installed. To my surprise, the morning I start the car up to go to the dealership, all the lights are out!! Regardless, they still replaced the part. (or so they say)
