I can relate to the OP. I dove the IS250 and my impression was...> looks like an IS, but feels like a Camry. Even though I am just getting use to my 08 IS350, sometimes I feel like it could use at least another 50hp and 40tq. An IS250 would have me rocking forward in the seat, as in , telling it to "getty up and go".
Same here, the wife and I drive both. Around here, a lot of girls drive the IS250.

i have the 250 awd, and u can feel the lack of power off of a red light and such, but in reality how often do u top out your car? i cant see enjoying driving much more than when i get on a windy road and keep the rpms at a min of 5k =)

more than enough for me. ive driven the IS350. sure its a fun drive, and its pretty fast. but ive found that the is350 really does have a lot more unwanted understeer (both with stock dunlops) than mine goin up angeles crest. (70mph+) im more into handling and stability so i cant complain.

I have no complaints with my 250, in fact I feel super spoiled having it. My only complaint was the price but it is well worth it.

When you're in the right gear, the IS250 has a lot of power. I feel the power after 3k RPM. The shift from first to second gear is a good feeling.

wait wait... you mean the same car with 100 less horses feels less powerful?!? Wow, quite a revelation there Irishman06.

LOL, come on man, of COURSE it's going to feel heavier and much slower than your 350. There are pros/cons to both the 250/350.

I too was once young and lived by Motor Trend's 0 to 60 times and I can tell you your tastes 'will' change over time.

Once you get over the rush at each stop light than what? You drive the car like everyone else.....unless your an a..hole and cut everyone off.

Anyhow, here's a story for all us IS250 fans to love....at least I think so. Two weeks ago my wife and I were over in Laughlin, NV dropping a dime or two in the slots. Laughlin is 278 miles (from the Colorado bridge to my driveway) With my trusty Passport 8500 'bird-dog' on post we took off. We made it home in 3 hours and 59 minutes with the average speed showing 73 MPH. In order to do that I was cruising at 90/95 MPH across the desert for perhaps a 100 miles or more. Traffic was lite and I didn't cut, or **** off any other drivers along the way. What was fun was having some guy in a Sliverado Pickup !!!! follow me for 50 miles or more........accept when I hit a 100 a few places and he dropped back.

Sooooooooooooo, to all you IS350 hot-dogs do your stop lite antics and enjoy but for me.......nothing is more fun than high speed cruising while listening to a mellow CD. The car cruises so easy at that speed my wife slept through most of the drive without a clue.

IS250.......gotta love you. OH, almost forgot. I averaged 27.1 MPG as well.

250 is really really slow. We have both and it's so slow I get pissed off sometime driving it. But I think handling on the 250 is better than the 350 due the the weight differences.

Gas wise, I'm hitting 29.4 mpg on my 350 so only about 45 mpt on average lower than 250.

Dont know about you but an extra 100hp helps a whole lot when passing slow moving semi-trucks on a two lane, the differnce is sweat it or no sweat at all.

Not for me...............I guess that's because I've owned two VW Beetles.....talk about picking your spot to pass.......

All I know is when I floor the car at 70 MPH I'm going about 90 + when I get to the front...........fast enough for me. But hey, whatever floats ya boat I guess.
