I own a 250, but had a 350 loaner for a day. While I love my 250 and feel it's got plenty of power for me, I have to say the 350 sure was fun to drive for a day. But I can easily picture myself getting into too much trouble in the 350 with my lead foot....

Nicely put!

Gas wise, I'm hitting 29.4 mpg on my 350 so only about 45 mpt on average lower than 250.
Is it just my driving? how did average 29.4 on a 350 are you just mainly driving freeways. or down hill and getting your car towed up the hill. I don't even get close to that on my 250.

NOPE. So far I have on the dash is 413 for the 350. I drive average of 75-80 mph on the freeway.

I drive about 85% freeway and the rest local. I check my air pressure all the time and maintaine about 2.5 psi higher, especially for the front inorder to get more even wear.

Last I saw the gauge of 250 was 456 mpg.

I was pretty shock how this 3.5L can get such good mileage. My s2000 can't even get that much and it's only 2.0.

also, what even shock me more is that i drive on the busy 405 freeway hitting traffic all the time. But what I do is if I think the traffic is way too slow I just drive with the snow button on. That way I'll get the feel of 250's power.

the 250 is just wayyyy too slow for a late model luxury sports sedan.. fun to drive vs. the 350? that's just crap. What like maybe 10% better handling? If i wanted 200hp and better handling I woulda got a TSX or something and saved a few bucks. 200hp just doesn't cut it on a car this heavy. They shoulda put in the camry's V6 instead.

i will say that although on apper the hP of the 250 is low, it has good driving feel. i had a 350 loaner and although it was faster, because of the gearing it didnt feel that impressive. what the 250 lacks for in hP i think they have made up for in throttle response and tranny

that having been said, at least on apaper a lexus costing that much should have at least 30 more hp.

i have a 250 because i wanted awd, and in everyday driving it is fine, since i usually stay close to the speed limit and rarely exceed 3k rpm

That's a rocket compared to '79 Mercedes 300D my mom had. 3200 pounds of solid steel, a body that was as aerodynamic as a brick, and a five cylinder diesel putting out something like 65 horsepower.

The reason your mileage is less than the others is your telling the truth. Amazing how some folks thank they can BS the rest of us. I guess they forget we also own the car....lol........
