I guess that's why they are quoted worldwide........because their unreliable.

Don't get your horns sharpen just yet. Read the review again and maybe again and you'll find they really didn't bag on any car. It's all about what you like. All had strengths and weaknesses according to the benchmark's use for each car.

The overall benchmark..........In my opinion.....leaned toward performance. I still think overall the Lexus has the best balance of all of them and it's why I bought it. JMHO

Exclamation

There is a reason these writers are NOT working for C&D or MotorTrend for that matter....

Hands down, as a whole their review of ALL these cars in the comparo SUCKED!!!

Respectively,

All are great cars but I also agree Edmunds car reviews are the worst on the planet.

I agree completely... I really couldn't see myself driving the Cadillac. They're nice cars, but the design doesn't work for me at all.

I also gawked at Edmund's comment about how the IS didn't "feel" right, either. I felt the exact opposite. I work for the agency that handles all the creative marketing for Nissan/Infiniti, and I would have got a substantial discount (and preferred parking spot at work) on a G35, but driving one just didn't "feel" right. I also didn't really "connect" with the MB C-Class when I drove it. It looks nice, but felt REALLY small inside.

And the 3 series is just played out, especially in So-Cal. I swear, my neighbor's cleaning lady drives one...

I do agree that the IS interior is slightly dated (compared to it's competitors), however, the body of the IS (front end especially) is MUCH sleeker looking than the Infiniti or Cadillac, IMO.

Who cares....................do you really need to have someone else tell you what to like? You own a car thousands of other folks would die for. Enjoy it and move on

Yea I dont buy that for nothing. No way a cadi beat a lexus in anything those cars are junk. I never trust reviews anyway, im convinced all the reviewers are paid off by companies for marketing.

I could go on a tirade here, but I’m not. However I would like to say a few things.

1. Where did it say the Lexus had to sport suspension? I did not see any mention of if it did or not. If it didn’t, that may be a cause of the lack of drive confidence in the review.

2. I have been in a new G35 and while I find it to be a very nice car with gobs of power I will say the interior quality lacked when compared to Lexus. And the CTS's interior is just an over glorified Chevy, so no quality there.

3. They complain about the price of the IS. Well no shiet....you loaded EVERY option in the thing. Hell the G35 didn’t even have Nav, so hush.

4. BMW's are always in the shop. A lady in my office has had her 07 3 series in the shop more times over the past two months then I can keep track of. She always has a loaner in her parking spot. Sad really.

All in all I feel the IS is the best of the bunch due to build and material quality, reliability, comfort, performance (albeit a bit less than a Bimmer) and resale value. Not to mention the IS is one sexy looking ride.

LOL... at least IS350 beats Benz C350.

I enjoy reading Edmund's reviews because it is reliable. (how can you call it not reliable just because the result is not in your favor?) Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Automobile, and Road & Track have similar tests showing similar results... the new CTS is a very good car and maybe better than the IS350 in the eyes of most professionals.

If I would choose between these two cars, IS350 is my call but this does not say "Edmunds is not reliable". This is my point.

Really? Last I checked that in the Feb 2007 issue R&T ranked IS350 AHEAD of the G35S. As matter of fact, G35S finished dead last in that 3 car comparo (TL-S finished second for the record).

Yup, edmunds has the best objective material (research, specs, etc) and worst subjective material.

Guys, for real, stop bringing up reliability when trying to shoot down car mag reviews. Reliability isn't even on their radar when they are writing these reviews; they only review perceived quality (look, feel, fit and finish) and performance.

So, while it may have played a large part in your decision to buy a car (and I hope that it did), it doesn't play any part in edmunds' choice to put the BMW, Audi, or MB above the Lexus.
