Yes, Lexus stopped selling them because people have been ruining their accelerator mechanisms when they try switching. So they sell the entire accelerator pedal/sensor @ $400-something.

However, go to a Toyota dealership. They sell the same sport pedals and they work. The Lexus parts dept guy at my dealership told me he got the accelerator pedal from the Toyota dealership.

About the sensor, where do they install it inside the car?. I mean,is it after marker sensor and you have to type it on the dash or they plug it with the competer and you can see it in that small blue screen that you can see the temprature, avrage gas, average speed ..etc. ?

Nono.. the ISx50 is a drive-by-wire car. The gas pedal is not connected to any rod or wire to the engine. There is a sensor on the pedal mechanism that determines how far you press and translates that into a signal that then tells a flow regulator how much gas to dump into the engine. If you look at this thread (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=301167), you'll see that there's an entire housing for the accelerator. The sensor is in there. That entire thing costs $400. They stopped selling just the pedal because people were breaking that mechanism when changing the pedal.

Hey Coconut.. if I decide to do it and I run into problems, you think you could help? What size punch should I get? Just get it from Kragen? I don't want to get an entire set if I don't need to spend the money on it.

No problem! I bought the $12 universal punch set from Home Depot. I actually used 2 from the set since you need a large one to hammer the pin back in. You can use my set and I can help you out if you need it. I'm in San Jose, you close by?

Hmm, why don't we title this thread something more appropriate?

It's somewhat complicated but the short story is, yes, at one time Lexus sold the sport gas pedal separately. They've changed that and now you can only get the entire gas pedal/arm/sensor assembly. It's like $400.

The gas pedal on the 1IS is exactly the same as the sport pedal on the 2IS only it's $140 cheaper. You have to remove the pedal from the 1IS assembly and attach it to the assembly in the 2IS. It can be tricky but it's worth it. The brake, clutch, and dead foot are still available.
