The fact TRD sells a plastic button for $140 pretty much sums up everything wrong with TRD.

TRD? Look at every american car builder... everything they sell has big plastic buttons.

The best thing would be if you can pop off the button and take it in. They will pretty much make any kind/color sticker to say what ever you want (as long as it fits) and they will most probably even stick it on for you.


I would do that if I were you guys.

Just to clarify, it's not just a red start button cap... It's a replacement for the entire push-start ignition assembly.

How is it different, functionally, from a 50-cent cover for the button?

i wonder if the trd assembly is tuned so our cars start up .000001 seconds faster :O. it would improve ur 1/4 mile speeds if ur from a "DEAD stop"

lol yeah, so for 140 you completely re-install a very sophisticated start up system, the only aesthetic aspect you get is the red (unmatching) button... does the startup sound different/better/faster?

Not defending the thing, just stating the facts. It's kinda like paying $140 for a Japanese coat hanger...

^^^ Sorry but $140 is halfway to getting an intake or black pearl emblem kit, people want to spend that money on something better than a little red button
