OT, The range calculation is always bogus because you can go below 0 miles left anyways. Realistically I could probably stretch it to 470-470 miles but it doesn't really matter because I have 100 miles of commuting a day so I just have to fill up every 4 days. And yes this means I'm glad I didn't pony up for the 350
Well, most cars let you go below "E" with 1-2 gals. reserve gas, so I'm not surprised, but I know that I read elsewhere on CL that the range is not actually calculated by the amount of gas left in the tank, anyway.

True.
Monday the low fuel light was on I was down to 19 miles left and the needle was a line in front of 'E'.
I went down that low to get to a Shell station away from home.I try to only use Shell V-Power 93.$3.09 too..

Damn--I love getting gas in NJ. $3.09 is a GOOD price on this side of the bridge for 87 octane...

That Shell station was in NW Jersey(Jefferson Twp) which is cheaper than my NJ area..
I'm near the Meadowlands and the cheapest Shell 93 is $3.30 as of Tuesday.

Sorry about the misunderstanding - I'm glad I didn't get the 350 because I spend most of my time on the cruise control on the freeway commuting and thus rarely have a real chance to use the 100 extra hp. OC freeways are fast, but rarely unobstructed.

And $3.09? Jeez I think my next fillup it'll be $3.59 a gallon at least.

So I went to go fill up on Saturday, the needle was just above 1/2 tank. Filled up with 6.4 gals (which seemed odd--so I figure maybe the needle was a little pessimisic, or I just looked at it wrong??), did the math, and WOW--I got over 26mpg on that fill up, the most I ever had. Even though the car told me I was at about 21 mpg (and is usually 1-2 mpg high).

I'm thinking maybe I've turned a corner, and I'm going to start getting better milage. (I know, it doesn't make any logical sense, but I want to believe it).

Then, I start the car, and drive away, and I'm looking at the needle--AND IT'S NOT ALL THE WAY UP TO "F". The pump shut off too early--had another 2 gals to go, which would have put the milage about what I expected.

DAMN!
