Oh he's talking about a car... When I first saw this I thought he was talking about a boat or vacation home or mortgage or something. haha

the only reason you guys came out on top is because you put money down. there is no way in hell you could come out ahead on a 72 or 84 month loan and i don't care what kind of car you bought.

you would be a lot better off leasing and buy somthing cheap to make the commute

Modern Japanese cars, a Lexus especially, do NOT fall apart at the end of the 50,000 warranty period. You are just wasting money by dumping the car at 50,000 miles. A Lexus will easily go 200,000 with minimal repair issues beyond normal maintenance. That would put you at about 5 years. Don't be focused solely on the monthly payment.

I'm guilty of making plenty of bad financial decisions, but this sounds about as irresponsible as any I've ever heard of. This behavior can only lead to bankruptcy unless you plan on dying soon.

Why refinance? I would use the credit union from day one.

FYI, on a LFS lease you can go up to 30,000 miles per year - unless they changed it recently.
