What is REALLY needed at 15,000 Miles?
I called in yesterday to set up my 15k service on my IS350 and it was $390!?
I asked why so much and they do an alighnment, which i recently did already, oil change, tire rotation, which we dont need, and some inspection. Without the rotation and alignment, it is gonna cost me $230. Do I need all the stuff they do for $230.00 or should i just tell them to change the oil?
Any help is great.
Thanks guys
Jason

that's a no brainer... oil change only..
[/START RANT]the lexus scheduled maintenance every 5K miles is a joke.. it's for gullible people who feel like they have to shell out that $$ just bc they own a lexus... actually, it's the other way around.. YOU OWN A LEXUS.. it doesnt need CV joints, brakes, fluid levels, etc. inspected every 5K miles.. [/END RANT]
stick with the oil change and you'll be good to go

Not to sound smarmy at all, however, if one of those components failed, and you had not taken the car in for 'scheduled' service, would Lexus not have grounds under which to deny you warranty coverage?
Probably not an issue on the average, however, I could certainly see some service manager making that claim and causing grief for the owner for at least some period of time attempting to resolve the issue.
