My buddy work at car dealership and he know one of his employee paint real good and match the color of the car.. My friend said the painter worry about paint the engine cover because the cover made plastic and might have a bubble on the paint for heat resistant from the engine get hotter. Should I leave it alone or is it safe to use stock paint on the engine cover? LEt me know

Its ok to paint it but I dont know how well the paint will withstand the heat. There are plenty of members with it and dont seem to have a problem. And plus its like Hondas they paint their valve covers and nothing happens so I would say its a go!

True Honda valve cover made medal but the IS250 engine cover made plastic.. My friend told me the painter use regular paint not the high temp paint.. So anyway any opinion

As long as the plastic is prepared correctly (sanded, primed) then you should not have any problems. If the guy knows what he is doing then it should come out looking damn good.

I had my body show paint all my covers. The Vof the center grey cover, and then all the others a gloss black to match the car.

I drive my car hard and it runs hot. I have not had any problem with peeling, cracking, or bublling and this has been done for almost 1 year. I am not sure what paint they used but it matches well for a black car.

Normal paint + flex additive because the engine cover flexes a lot when you take the cover off.

OK Im gonna tell my friend's buddy paint the engine cover with starfire pearl.. One more question, the engine cover is flexible plastic and the paint is on the engine cover, if I take them off and something uneven take off the cover. U think the paint will crack..
