The inside windshield mounted Sirius antenna does an extremely poor job. I experience signal cut-outs in places I never did with the outside antenna on my old RX.

I know it's not possible to use the shark-fin on the roof (different connectors), but has anyone swapped out the OEM antenna for the old-fashioned roof mount? I'm not crazy about having the thing attached to the roof, but I don't want to have to put up with the poor reception either.

If I complained enough, what are the chances of the dealer doing it for me under warranty?

I have the ML system so my sirius antenna is in the rear or I would do this in a second.

I mounted my sirius antenna (black square pill box kind) outside on the trunk, near the rear center brake light. It works very well, no reception issues.
