Default oem hid 2007 and beyond

i know we have been through this plenty of times on this board but, i have a 07 with factory HID now my understand is the default hid is roughly the 4300k, and if i wanted to replace them with the 6000k or 6500k i have to get the D4s bulbs correct? well looking at xenondepot all i see is one set of "D4s" bulbs and there at 6000k, so who has swapped out there oem hid for the 6000k d4s bulbs from xenon depot?

so do you have any before and afters of the oem hid versus the 6000k? also does the D4S bulbs only come in the 6000k style?

Yes, our cars use D4S bulbs. I believe Xenondepot also sells 8000k as well in that fitment. If you look at their website, it shows you before and after pictures of both the 6000K and 8000K next to the stock 4300K. I have their 6000K bulbs and I'm very happy with it. The color is white with a hint on purple in it. I don't have a tripod so it will be hard to get an accurate picture of it, but the pics on their site is pretty much what you'll see.

I have 8000k from xenonvalot.com. They are a european company, but i love my lights. They are light blue, and not very bright. If i only have my headlights on, i don't see much, but with my 8000k fogs, i can see clearly.

So you can change the OEM HIDs without changing the ballast?
Are you sure you're using the bulds to their requirements is you're using the stock HID ballast?

As long as your just swapping 4300k to 6000k/8000k bulbs you dont need a new ballast. Its just a bulb swap only.

Yea I think XD uesd to offer 4300K bulbs but something happened a while back and they took them off and never brought them back. Personally 6000K+ is too blue for me. I will be going to a 5000K bulb once my stock ones burn out. But yea all youd need is a pair of D4S bulbs.

I just got my IS250 less than a month ago and I'm still new to all this but I was wondering. All you people that are replacing the stock HID's are you doing it because you want your lights to looks a different color or are these aftermarket bulbs actually brighter?

The stock light is 4300k which is brightest. We buy 6000k/8000k bulbs to change the looks only as they provide less lite (still way more than halogen).
