yeah i only said to black out the tails becuase i think it just needs some more black parts since the rims are really the only black thing. Black emblems would def. be the first step. A black roof would definitly look crazy. Perhaps blacked out headlight housings?
do you like carbon fiber? theres a red 3 series at my achool with a carbon fiber lip and grill and it looks pretty hot. maybe you could do a carbon fiber grill and trunk spoiler?

Yeah, the only thing about blacked out emblems is that I'm not sure where to get good ones... I heard the paint on the ones that you can buy from Sewell (which, btw, are ridiculously expensive for some plastic lettering) start peeling or flaking after just a few months. Based on that, I'm guessing that if I tried painting them myself, I'd have a similar problem.
EDIT: Do you see me at/near Jupiter and George Bush by any chance? I see an IS a lot around there that seems like it might be yours.

I think some smoked badges would look nice on your car. A light smoke on the tails would also help tie in the wheels. As far as the peeling badges, there are many 'smoke' or gunmetal colored paints available. And Ive seen clear coat lacquers in aerosol cans. That might solve the peeling issue.
Your over cast pictures look great, the paint is glossy and deep. If you want that metal flaking to show up you really need a good camera/lighting.
Macro feature is another great way to get some flakey pictures
The car is coming along great. What are your feelings about the Teins with EDFC?
oh and a link to some clear coat, im sure there are others

Namir, thanks for the tip. Maybe clearcoat is the solution... Hopefully I'll figure something out.
And I'm liking the Teins a lot. The ride is great, and the coilovers seem capable of really tightening the handling when I stiffen them up... but I haven't exactly tracked her yet.
Rashood, I was thinking about the GFX front lip, but I'm not so sure I want an aftermarket body kit.
