Default My subwoofer is blown... I think.

So the past week or so, I've noticed some rattling in the rear of my car. I go to check it out, but I can't really figure out if it's the subwoofer or speaker. Well the other night, my subwoofer did not work at all. So I thought to myself that it's blown and gone.

Now today when I went to work, it worked again. It had the same rattling, but then it went away. I listened to some songs with a lot of bass to try to see if it'll start rattling again, but I couldn't replicate it.

Now my question is, if I needed my subwoofer replaced, would it be covered under warranty? I scheduled an appointment with Lexus on Friday, but it would suck if they couldn't replicate my problem.

I'm not really sure what I'm asking for, but all i know is the sound system sucks without the subwoofer and it sucks with the rattling.

BTW, my car is a 2006 IS350 w/ NAV and ML + Hack.

SAME THING WITH MY CAR.

This has been going on for over a month..i've taken my car to the dealership twice and they said ''the sub can't be blown because there is no rattle'' i was like well no ***** its blown because its not working at all! They still have not replaced it. Apparently i have to 'prove' to them that its blown..

Please PM me if you get this fixed! thanks!

Should be covered under warranty, IF, as you mentioned, they can verify it's actually blown or shorting out. Keep us posted and good luck!

Mine was blown - too much rap and crappy mp3's. They replaced it under warranty.

How did they realize the sub was blown?

On mine, you could place music at a real low volume and you could hear the subwoofer fluttering rather than producing quality sound as it should.

I just posted about this in the ML subwoofer thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...29#post3069229

You can clearly hear the rattle when playing Nelly - Country Grammer at 15ish.

I confirmed that the rattle is coming from the subwoofer. It seems like the rattle is coming from the left side of the woofer. Are there two woofers in there?

I had the same problem and my sub was replaced under warranty. Per their work order, the sub had an open circuit.

I wonder if it's because of the hack. Today when I was driving, it would work and then not work. =\

yeah now that you mentioned it, mine is blown too. i NEVER sit in the backseat so someone was back there the other day and said, dude your speaker is blown. i will have to sit back there, listen, and then go get it replaced hopefully under warranty and my next scheduled maintenance i guess.
