This is exactly what I said in the comments section of the autospies article. It was basically written to stir people up and catch peoples attention, which it certainly did. The IS350 is definitely not as fast and will probably never handle as well as the upcoming IS-F.

Amazing to finally see an IS350 in the 12s! Congrats on the accomplishment ! Hopefully we will see more getting into the 12s now. Also it's amazing that you did this on a stock motor. Just imagine what IS350s will be able to pull when the performance potential of the 2GR-FSE is unlocked. Cracking those engine codes will open up a huge aftermarket for the IS.

Considering it's a stock motor, I'd say it's a great achievement. With stock motors, there are only 2 cars in this class that can hit 12s, and right now that seems to only be the 335i and IS350.

Info - Most SUVs and pick-ups are governed to just over 100mph because of their high center of gravity and size.

The guy who wrote the Autospies article is an idiot. He thinks brakes and pads will change stopping distance. Brain dead. Tires, Tires, TIRES!!!

is this true about the Cecil track? about how its on a slant? Times tend to be faster there, I've read.

The Cecil track is kinda odd in that it has both an upward slope and a downward slope. It basically equals itself out as cars running there are pulling expected times. The day I was up there all the 350z's, G35s were running low to mid 14's at 102+mph. Even a few V8 mustangs were running slower than me that day, but close with their slicks and skinny fronts. The only reason I'd consider going back to this track is because its kind of out in the boonies and can get several more runs in than at the MIR track in southern MD.

High 11's, fully stock motor? Haven't seen it myself, do you have any links?

Then again, I'm not that surprised considering the twin turbo setup. A whole world of possibilities would open up if the IS350 had twin turbos for example.

Even the current N/A setup, all that needs to be done is for the engine codes to be cracked, and for a proper stand-alone to come out that can work with all 12 fuel injectors on the 350.

can we just please stick to the IS350 getting into 12s and not about the almighty 335i having turbos and going into 11s or whatever.
