After three years of ownership, I can say this.... You may get used to the color. But the public around you will not. I am still getting questions and comments about the color.

It's a stunning color, unique when compared to anything offered by competing cars.

What's your take on color-matching in the event of bodywork or repairs? Can it be done successfully by pros?

I have had two GFM's that needed bodywork and both times mine have been matched very well. I am going to hate giving my current one in October when my lease is up.

My car has been painted more times than I care to admit. It's more difficult to match, but any good body shop should be able to match GFM without too much hassle. It's not impossible by any means.

Thanks guys for info on repairability of GFM, I figured the hands-on knowledge existed here.

fyi - My SGM hood was repainted by bodyshop that my Lexus dealership partners with, color-match was perfect. Sounds like the better shops can handle these unique metallic colors.

Thanks - not sure what you're asking about the mirrors, but yes I did install them myself.

Ah, Are those side mirrors aftermarket or OEM? The light is a bit thicker on yours from what I've seen on the 09+.

Sorry for the confusion.
