Talking My 2009 IS250

Just picked up my 2009 IS250 w/ sport package. Stock so far. Planning some small, tasteful mods to make it my own - maybe tanabe medallion touring exhaust, too. I want something quiet, but more aggressive sounding than stock.

Spent 7 hours detailing yesterday ( washed, clayed, polished, waxed) since we finally got a break from the heat, so I decided it was a good time for a proper first photo shoot. The hard work payed off - got an amazingly deep shine, almost looks black in a some of the pictures.

I just picked up an 08 Is250 SGM. Called up the Lexus dealership here in Toronto and asked them for a rear spoiler. The part # is 08150. Its the only spoiler they have. Would you happen to know if this is the same one that they would be installing for me?

That looks like the OEM spoiler, so most likely that would be the one their installing for you.

Surely.

Step 1: Washed and dried using Armor All Wash & Wax car wash. Dry with microfiber cloth.
Step 2: Clay bar with gentle-fine grade clay and Poorboy's World Spray & Wipe. Wipe clean with micro fiber cloth.
Step 3: Polish with Meguiar's M105 (if needed) and M205 compound using Porter Cable 7424XP Random Orbital Buffer. Used black pads with M205 and either orange or white pads with M105 depending on the severity of the defects. Wipe clean with microfiber cloth.
Step 4: Waxed with Hydrophobic Nano Paste Wax. Buff with microfiber cloth.
Step 5: Sit and Stare

*Take your time with the polish - it makes all the difference for a perfect finish!*

All of these products were purchased from Detailed Image. They are a great site that I have been buying products from for a while. They also provide a GREAT in depth detailing guide free of charge on the site. Check em out.

Wow, how much did all of this cost you minus the buffer?

Meguair's Package - $80

This package contains the Meguiar's M105 and M205 polishing compounds, clay bar, quick detailer (used for clay lube), Sealant (which provides similar protection compared to a wax, but lasts longer. It doesn't typically deliver the same shine as a wax, though, so many people will use sealant with a coat of wax on top. All for $80. These are generously sized bottles, too and will last you several uses (unless your paint is in rough shape at the moment and needs some extra work). The wax I used was $25, it was new so I thought I would try it - it was not my favorite. The car wash can be purchased at Target for $5-7. Microfiber cloths can be purchased in nearly any automotive department for cheap. All in all - these types of products are well worth the money, maintaining and protecting your paint is worth more than any mod to me.
