Any regrets getting IS 250 instead of IS 350 or vice versa?

I think I've made this same post about 10 times since I signed up on this forum... but anyway: the IS250 is perfect for me. I have a fast car (450rwhp Z06) that I race, a lot. There is NO point in a 350 for me. Compared to the Z06 it's still slow, and gets about the same mpg. The 250 gives me all the luxury of a Lexus (I have NAV, heated/cooled seats etc.), the amazing interior, the quality, the looks (I like it, some call it a "girl's" car) etc. The car drives amazingly well and serves its purpose spot on.

"the nile" (you have to say it out loud) = denial
In other words I chose to know that there is no such thing as in "IS350".

Unlike many here I have no plans to sell or trade the car anytime within the next 10 to 15 years. With full knowledge that gasoline will go up to around 5 or even 6 bucks a gallon within that time frame I wanted the best mileage and most durable motor Lexus makes. I really believe the 250 motor is vastly under tuned and should remain trouble free for a long time.
To each their own. If I were young (I was once) I probably would have opted for the big motor but times change and so do your needs.

No regrets from me on getting the 250. In fact, from reading some of the threads here about the lack of power in a 250, sometimes I think that I got a fast 250 by mistake, like it should be slower than it is. Maybe it's because I use 93 grade fuel. I've owned a G35 coupe and a TSX, and it feels like the 250 is right in between them as far as power; That may not be true, but, that is the way it feels to me.

I love my 250...
I came from a 300+ whp STI and I miss the power...but I love the quietness and ride of the IS, and I was looking for a nice, relaxed car to replace the STI since I will built a track/race only car...and if I bought a 350 I know it would have been a $$$ pit, lol
But a 6sp MT 350 would be a nice daily ...

All I know is that if I had a 350 I'd either be...
1)Dead from a high speed collision
or
2)In Jail for reckless driving.
I drive my 250 pretty hard, I can only imagine what damage I would have done in a 350

Yikes, in your case, thumbs up for getting a IS250 based on safety.

Cost may have been a factor for some on this forum but based on what the average income is for a Lexus buyer I doubt it. When I went in to purchase my Lexus I knew all about the IS350 but didn't even gander so much as a look at one. I knew what I wanted and that was the IS250......I've not been disappointed....what's not to like? You can cruise all day at 80/90 MPH and get 28+ MPG while your at it.

I don't have my 250 yet, but I know I will regret it, haha. I had to have the manual transmission and I don't want to wait until next year for the 6 speed IS350 so I just went for the 250 for now. Maybe I'll trade up in a year or two, or go for the coupe.
