Sorry to bring this from the dead but I have a question.
How do you remove the engine cover?
My car color is SGM same as above, should I paint the whole thing body color and leave the mesh part original?

^ you just gotta yank it out man
it's held by two clips I think, just pull it up
and as far as the color goes, you can paint SMG like JoeZ
but if I were you, I'll go with different color just to stand out

off the two rubber stoppers and they might fall into engine bay.
I had to get a long stick and try to get one from engine bay..
good luck..as far painting it's a personal prefference...

can anyone please tell me if i need to use high temperature paint for the engine cover? after a long few hours drive i am able to touch the surface of the engine cover so i'm assuming the normal paint thats on the bodywork with clear coat would work

Basically, you'll need plastic primer and high temp paint.
