stays in gear longer. At full throttle though there is no difference. It is quite easy to tell just go drive your car with it on and see what it does.

Basicly its 3 diff throttle maps/shift point settings. I kinda enjoy snow mode now for the smoothness

Yes, but your engine response will kick in slower.

Yes. It is excellent for when you are stuck in really bad stop-and-go bumper-to-bumper traffic, as it makes it much easier to drive smoothly.

And you don't have to give it as much throttle to make it downshift.

Is that true...or does it just downshift sooner than normal?

I don't believe that's true. It seems like it downshifts sooner than normal. When you downshift above 2k rpm or so, you can feel the engine 'braking'. Under normal conditions (non-ECT), the engine seems to downshift at a much lower(later) rpm when slowing down (smooth shifts). In ECT mode, the engine shifts much sooner to get you into lower gears faster for better acceleration. This results in 2k+ rpm downshifts which, as anyone who has ever driven a manual knows, gives you engine braking.
