internet pricing is usually more than on the phone pricing... call up local dealers and ask for their fleet manager (instead of going through the middle man)... and telling him/her up front whats the best deal they can give you... they will probably ask where you live and if you are in an area where where there is high compeition between dealers you will probably find the price you are looking for....you should be able to get it for $42000 before taxes.. Also if you are trying in cash like I do... make sure you don't tell them that until after the price is settled... fiancing and leases are how most car salesmen get their $.... the internet is poor way to find the best deals and whatnot... I tried it when tryign to purchase my IS350 and they told me lie after lie... -.-" ... so cut the middleman and go straight to the bigman (fleet manager)... I was able to negotiate a price with no hassling, no questioning... haha... he asked me where i lived and i told him... and he said it was their targeted area so they will beat whatever price the local dealers would go... so he beat longo's $500 over invoice =)... no hassle... it was an in and out process...

I simply called up Sewell's (Dallas, TX) internet sales manager and said, "Here's what I'm going to pay. Would you like to sell me the car or not?"

Done deal.

Don't let them give you an offer ...... you give them an offer. Work up their invoice price, add what you think is reasonable profit for them (be reasonable, don't offer them $100 over invoice for an IS350 and expect to be taken seriously), then add the freight charges. Give them this number and tell them you are ready to commit NOW if they agree. That will show them that you are serious. Negotiations should go quick and you'll know quickly whether you can strike a deal. If not, move on to the next dealer. The key is knowing the market. Do your research.

Paying cash can work to your detriment, so don't tell them this. If they ask, tell them you haven't decided.

Internet shopping for a car really doesn't exist. It's an information gathering exercise. You can't make a deal and pay for a car online, the dealer system will never allow this. You always have to go through a dealer. Getting to the fleet manager, or often the internet manager, who can make a decision is critical.

Yeah just call up some dealers like would like to do business with and offer them a fair price like $750 - 1000 above invoice, some might say no. They want to know how bad you want the car if you want it that bad they will make you pay for it! Just tell them your price and if they say no, tell them to give you a call when they are ready to sell at your price.Try this with a few dealers and trust me you will get a call back.

email every dealer you're comfortable driving to and see what they say. I did this and ended up having 2 dealers going back and forth on price. I saved a TON of money this way.
