On my car, the pedal travel is VERY long, but the actual space within that travel that the friction point occupies is very short. It's not quite an on/off switch (like say, the 2007 G35's clutch), but it's pretty close.

From reading the reviews of this car, that seems to be the norm. So maybe you lucked out.

Try a search on the differences between 07-08 and general pricing talk.
especially if you came from a honda manual tranny, probably the best feeling, smoothest shifting manual out of any manafacturer, especially the S2000. I came from a 88 prelude and 2000 prelude

I would have to agree.....Honda/Acura are probably among the best sticks in the non-exotic game.

Haha.. I guess I did. I don't know the terminology, but I suppose the friction point for mine is very, very long. My clutch point is about 1/6th into the travel and the catch point (where the engine starts catching on the way up from fully depressed) is also about 1/6th on the way back. That gives me about 2/3 of the travel being the actual friction point.

And I agree. I drove my friend's Civic Si and another friend's TSX. They have the smoothest shifters I've ever driven and they're much better than the IS. However, they're FWD. That just kills it right there.

I came from an STI also...

I drive a 6sp MT IS250 and I do miss the power....but the handling and ride of the IS are top notch...
