Hey, I had that car when it first came out with the peanut headlights. I think it was 2001 or 2002 (can't remember). My wife and I got a Bordeaux red (brick red if you ask me) one with clam (gray) leather and some dark wood. Awesome color combo for my wife. C240 - it was really a 2.6 liter V6. Smooth as butter engine - I think it only had 170 HP or so though. It was geared short so on the HW, I'd get only 24-26 MPG. In any case, after 4-5 months, the heater stopped working in the dead of winter. I said, screw it and made the mistake of going up to an ML500 2002. That was a great SUV - killer torque and nice fat tires and rims. But man, was that a bunch of problems later on. Now I'm in Lexus - almost went back to MB, but back to Lexus again. I've really had much less headaches with Lexus than MB. Anyways, welcome to the Lexus family.

I think 2001 is the first year of the W203 C-Class and from what I've heard they have many many issues. However, I had a 2002 C230 that was problem free for 48k miles, my brother's 2003 C230 has around 80k miles and not much issues as well. Our 1998 ML320 was somewhat problematic once it gets up to 120k miles but has since been replaced with the new ML350. Maybe our family is just lucky?

Its sad, MB used to be good reliable cars... well the older ones, but now i hear loads of problems with the newer ones.
I remember help fixing my friends MB, i forgot what it was, but at that time its was 2001 and the car was 14 years old. so im guessing its a 1987? anyways the only thing that broke on the car was a window switch.
