Default Weird XM issue this morning

Normally when I pull out of my garage my XM cuts our for a second or two..no big deal. Today after pulling out, none of the stations had any sound. The station display and the 'Text' information of the song/artist worked fine. Basically everything seemed fine, other than no sound from XM . There was not a 'No signal' indicator. Other modes (AM/FM, etc) all worked fine.

When I got to work, I shut the car down, restarted it, and XM was fine. I call this the Microsoft method...If all fails...reboot.

Anybody else have this issue with XM?

It's a problem previously reported here. It happened to me once. The only way to fix the problem is shut the car off and turn it back on. It's a gremlin that no one seems to know what it is caused by, or how to permanently fix it. It can't be duplicated at will, so you can't troubleshoot it. Just one of those things.

Yup, I've experienced the exact same problem once, right after I had renewed my XM subscription. I thought that XM had f'd up my renewal, and canceled my service! As everyone else has already mentioned, it worked perfectly after the engine was turned off, then on again. So far so good *fingers crossed*. If it happens again, I'll start worrying about a more permanent solution. The question is, what would that solution be???

This also happened in my Honda Element SC yesterday (factory sound system). It seems like it is a problem with XM, and not Lexus or Honda.

I installed the Lexus (Toyota) XM receiver last night in my '08 IS250 (Nav, non -ML), activated it and it worked fine last night. It loaded all the channels, names, genres, etc... I configured all my presets.

This morning, only a handful of channels were available. During the first 10 min of my commute, it slowly updated a portion of them, but only about 20%, where it stopped and didn't update any additional channels. I continued driving for 20 more minutes, but no additional updates. I stopped twice, killed and restarted the engine, but it had no effect.

This is my fifth XM radio and I've never seen one take this long to update. It updated 100% last night (in less than 5 min) and I had access to all my subscribed channels.

Suggestions?

I sent the receiver a reset from XM's website and it appears to have fixed the problem. Hopefully it will retain the channels and won't require subsequent resets. None of my other radios have.
