What are you looking for it to do exactly that an ipod via the AUX jack can't?

There's a number of solutions possible (DVDs if you have nav/ML, one of the several ipod integration units if you have nav without ML, or one of the ipod controllers with their own screens if you have no nav, just to name a few) but it depends on what kinda functionality you're looking for exactly.

Why not just rip CDs in mp3 format? Not enough for you...? lol, 6 disc CD changer and I'm only using one slot. I would put more music but there is no point I hate playing old songs.

being able to do everything through the nav is a plus. what kind of ipod integration things are you talking about. I do have nav but not ML.

It would be cool to have a hard drive built into our stereo's, I agree. but, with 6 CD's in dash, and XM radio, I'm not sure how much more music I need to listen to.

For all practical purposes, VAIS ipod adapter = 80GB hard drive in the car. The ipod is stashed away and it's only used a hard drive. That's the only reason I bought one - to use one in the car as a hard drive. if I actually had to use the ipod interface on a daily basis, I'd probably stab myself in the *****.
