Agreed. This is the reason why you won't find HIDs higher than 6K from any factory car. The function is very important. They create light using 35W and make about twice the light output. Using higher temps would be counter productive and reduce your light output. You might as well have halogen bulbs in there instead.

This is another reason manufacturers will be switching to LEDs in the future. The bulb(s) can be removed and are part of the entire assembly. The LS hybrid already is using this technology.

I have 8000k's in my car and while it looks awesome from the outside, last night when it was raining I was practically driving blind.

I have a feeling if you get 8000k you'll have worse light output than if you had halogens and didn't have HID's at all.

I have had xtronic 6000k from xtralights.com for about almost 2 years now. It is the best and most rewarding mod I have ever done. Clear at night and clearly luxury. Sky blue is a nice compromise

And PIAA 3000K crystal ion fogs. I rarely use them though. I use the fogs in the rain and, well, when it is foggy.

i agree with sirCharles. unless i get impatient, ill just wait to have to swap my stock bulbs, then ill go with the 6k. 8k is a tad too blue for me, and ive heard visibility isnt the greatest. atm running stock hids and 4350k fog halogens.

I like 4300k... the factory HIDS.. so that when My halos are on.. they stand out.. if I had 8000k HIDS and my 8000k halos are on.. then whats the point.. they'll both blend in.

8000k is nice. but wayyyyy too bright. ppl can barely see the front of your car at night. its just a big blue blur!

Got rice?

Seriously though....I've seen 2 Fx50 PUs wearing blue lights....the rest of the cheap looking blue lights were straight up rice-mobile civics with bond-o instead of paint, and sentras with aircraft wings on the back.

Don't be that guy...........

I have 8000k lows and a tinted windshield (30%) and I dont have too much trouble seeing at night. I do plan on changing the fogs to 5000k's to help out a little.
