The couple past weeks my friends and I have noticed a burning smell inside the cabin of the car...and the last couple times one of my friends notice that it smells like gasoline inside the cabin... I am wondering if this is normal? Anyone else having similar issue?

next time you smell it, take a look at your A/C Controls, and see if your air is recirculating or letting in outside air. you might be smelling the exhaust from the people in front of you. the factory settings permit this to switch from recirculate to outside air automatically when you have the a/c set to "auto".

you can get this changed at the dealership if you wish... so that the a/c recirculate setting will stay put.

when i got my IS for the first time, i noticed a strange smell when i would press the top right a/c button (some type of special air filter), eventually the strange smell went away after a few times.

the gasoine smell is from the exhaust.. make sure your ac is not taking air from outside like 1022it stated above

yea i used to get that burnt smell like 3 weeks ago then it randomly went away..
