Default I Need A Remote Starter!!

Does anyone know if there is a remote starter available for the 2007 IS250? I live in Chicago and the winters here are brutal. I wasn't sure with the push button start if it was available. If anyone can help i'd really appreciate it. thanks

Sonny, back in the 70's, when I lived in MN and SD, there wasn't such a thing. We just bundled up and went out to start the car when we were ready to leave in the morning. Start the car, and then scrape the windows if it had snowed overnight. It was character building. People are wimps today.

of course they have remote starts for these cars. They can put them in nearly every car out there.

I went today and tried and they said that there is a mechanism that gives the remote start a problem. He said he got it on and it would work, but only like 1 out of 5 tries, and thats standing next to it. I thought the same thing and wasted 5 hours of my day today.

It's possible.
I had remote start with a '07 Camry XLE with push button start and it was a Toyota part remote start installed by the dealer but my Lexus dealer wouldn't install remote start. They may by now, though.
I don't like the way Toyota does the install. On my former Camry and my present RAV4,the remote start shuts off when unlocking the door.My dealer says it's a Toyota safety issue and that's the way they will only install it.

The Camry is gone after my $8K damage after hitting a deer.I don't have the Toyota part# of the remote but it was definitely a Toyota part.
My IS was my daughter's car (she had a baby and bought a new 4Runner)and I did the negotiating when she bought the IS and that's when we were told Lexus doesn't have any remote for the push button start. When I told them I had remote in my push button start Camry XLE and it's a Toyota part they said they still don't have a remote kit for the Lexus line at this point. That was over a year ago.Lexus should have remote start available by now.

Lexus does have a remote starter available, but only for JDM models. Like clockwork, this subject comes up about every 2 months. Unfortuntately, there haven't been any developments that I know of in this regard. I remember reading of an aftermarket remote starter that was installed, but no USDM model has been fitted with the Lexus Japan remote starter... yet.

So far, the remote has only been confirmed to work with only JDM IS's... No one knows if it will work with a USDM IS because it hasn't been attempted yet. Carson has a unit, but Carson is a Toyota dealer, and doesn't have an IS to try it on. They were looking for a test fitter that would be willing to pay the cost of the unit. So far, they haven't found anyone willing to gamble with that much money. For those wondering why it wouldn't be compatible, it has to do with the fact that the JDM and USDM IS's have completely different ECU's. For this to work, there are a variety of modules that have to work together to certify access to the keyless lock and starting systems. If it doesn't work, you'll be left with a 3,500 pound paperweight. Hope this helps!

I don't know what a JDM model is but it's odd that Toyota has oem remote start for a Camry push button start but not for a Lexus.
