About opening the door with your foot on the brake, my mother-in-law had a terrible thing happen with a scenerio like that. She pulled up to her mailbox to get the mail. She parked a little to far to get it through the window, so she opened the door (with her foot on the brake) to reach for it. My nephew was in his car seat in the back with their cocker spaniel. When she opened the door, the dog lunged and somehow bumped into her. She fell out of the car, and layed there as her car ran over her down her shoulder and right arm (she watched the wheel right next to her head) and then over her right ankle. The car continued into the palmetto bushes. Originally she was more terrified of her grandson going down the road in the car and screamed for help. Eventually, someone came along to help. Afterwards, she told how she saw that wheel passing her head in her nightmares. She had lots of nerve damage, and reconstructive surgery on her ankle. Although she walks fine and can use her arm, she has recurrent nerve pain in both areas.
Guys, be careful out there. It only takes a split second to make a wrong decision. Thank goodness yours was just a little scratch and no one got hurt.

someone hit me and put two marks on my bumper and it cost $430 to fix. This past monday i was rear-ended at a slow speed and the estimate is $465. I know how it feels to have your pride-and-joy roughed up a bit; but at least the next time it happens, it wont be so heart breaking.
