Some people use a 4300k bulb and then modify the projector lense or reflector plate on a D2R housing. it is really a matter or prefferance and opinion. I would avoid anything over 8000k in order to avoid tickets. I don't like yellow in 4300K's.I don't like blue and the purple is awful.
My 5000K's are white and have great visibilty over higher K's.Just what I wanted.

i have 6000K on my 2GS and during the rain... visibility is bad. fortunately i have oem yellow fogs.. so that helped out alot.

5000K would be the pick of choice... pure white... but 4300K is of course the best performance. i left my 2IS stock and have added 4300K HID for the fogs.

I'm really annoyed with my HIDs right now. I made it clear to my installer that I was looking for azure, and I ended up with more of a periwinkle. If this doesn't get better, I'm just going to throw in the towel and tint my windows a nice indigo and call it a day.

why don't some people just change all of their household bulbs to blue. i'd like to see how well that goes in terms of visability.

ahhh do red... red light special.

Anyone know where to purchase 5000k lights? I think I might buy a pair to see what they look like in person.
Any of you try Xenon Depot's promotion on the 6000K/8000K bulbs? I also think about buying a pair of their 8000K bulbs too.

6000k > 8000k

6000 will not draw unwanted attention from authorities and still separates your car from the crowd at night.
