Default Clear bra... What do you think?

Curious what you guys think about the clear bra. I have only seen one in person. I want to protect it but I don't want it to be too noticable.

I have it. I don't think its ugly at all. I will leave it on for probably 5 years or so and then take it off.

I'm glad I got it because todays car paints are so soft that after driving home from the dealer you can have rock chips from the smallest rocks. This wasnt the case with the older cars I've owned.

I ordered it on mine. I agree that the paint used nowadays is definitely softer than before.

Have it, like it, wished I covered my whole hood. Got a chip just above the coverage.

As for the looks....
Can only really see it up close or at a certain angle! Choose the right film for you (function vs. looks). I know there was a tread here comparing the two major film makers.

GET IT GET IT GET IT!!!

Biggest mistake I have made with this car. My front bumper looks like crap with tons of rock chips. I have never experienced this much rock chipping on a car before.

Here is my recommendation. Get the front bumper done definitely. My car hasn't really seen a ton of chips on the hood so that is up to you.

Depends on the color of the vehicle.
I had one on a white car and would never get a clear bra again.
Keeping the edges and seams clean was a bear.Especially in winter.

Well I think I'm going to go ahead with it. My last car got so torn up. My manager friend at a higher end body shop around here gave me their guys number. Instead of paying 800 to 1400 through the dealer, he'll come do it at my house, same work, same warranty, same guy, will only charge me 270. Quite a mark up on that...

I had it installed on a 08 Black 350, and I would recommend it, you cannot see it unless you get really close to the car and are looking for it. I do not have a problem with the shine when waxing, however I used the 3M film, so I do not know if that makes a difference

i have the film on my 06 is350 and i need it for the crappy chicago roads with the loose asphalt and big chunks of salt and ice getting kicked up all over the place. best investment i made for the car.

My out-of-state dealer is doing it in-house before delivery when my custom order arrives. A local dealership had it on their showroom floor cars. They must get a good mark-up on it. I used $400 Luxury Package markup to pay for 1/2.

Expect to pay $800 ballpark for the (a) Hood, Fender and Mirror Kit and (b) Bumper and Lower Bumper Kit. They also have a (c) Wheel Opening and Rocker Panel Kit, (d) Door Edge protection, and (e) Universal headlight Kits.

You can get it to cover the lower hood, or pay more for full hood coverage. They also sell small pieces you can use on your door edge to prevent dings (when you hit the other guy's Lexus ). Has anyone had a problem with chips on their wheel openings and rocker panels (area below the doors)?

I've heard of it made my 3M, Llumar and Xpel. My dealer uses Llumar. There's good info on available kits at the Xpel website:

2008 IS250
2008 IS350

Look at a diagram of the pieces you get by moving your mouse over the left column. I may add a piece or two after I see what I get from my dealer.

It's definitely worth in IMO. Nobody can even tell that I have it on there until they get really close up to the car. The usual response I get is "WTF happened to your car??" Thinking it's a scratch across the hood.

A friend of mine bought a G35 around the same time I picked up my 2IS and he's been wishing he got one too. The front end of his car is torn up.
