For the OP, I would think these changes are nothing major to worry about unless defeating the VDIM was an important point. Otherwise, the cars are largely the same.

Oh, and there are some minor recalls associated with the 2006, so make sure from your buyer these were taken care of.

All,

Thanks for the great responses and information. I have a few follow-up questions.

The car I am looking at is pretty loaded, it has the ML stereo. He said it doesn't have Satellite, so my question is can I add Satellite, Sirius or XM, to an 06. I did see one of the radio buttons had SAT, so I think its SAT ready. I know that Lexus in the early stages had Sirius, then moved to XM, but I think I am seeing now that their stereos allow either XM or Sirius, so I am curious if I can easily add to the 06.

Regarding the NAV. What does this mean?

Quote - "08 also get the updated Nav w/o the "I agree" button to press on the display. This could be installed on all 06+ Is with Nav with the updated dics you'll have to purchase."

Are they saying that the back door override of the I agree was available, or at least known, on the 06, but if I upgrade the DVD version or if I had an 08 with the latest NAV software the back door override isn't availalble? Or are they saying that the I Agree with each startup of the vehicle is removed on the 08 and new DVD so you don't need to know the back door option?

Finally, can HID's be retrofitted on an 06? Don't need the adaptive moving stuff, but the cleaner light would be nice.

Again, Thanks!!

on 07 and back navigation systems there is a lawyer screen that tells you that you blah blah promise to use caution while using the navigation system so you dont crash and sue us, and you press this i agree button. 08+ it flashes the lawyer screen for 5 seconds and goes away without pushing I agree

If you have an '08 you have the coin holder. It's the joke to the left of the steering wheel, on the switch plate. Absolutely worthless, imo.

No, the improved steering feel is not subjective. They actually changed the steering ratio I believe, or something to that effect.

I'm pretty sure I saw Joe Z and at least one other 08 owner confirm they are -not- backlit, and mine aren't either, so I'm wondering if it's a setting or a **** or something we're all missing...
