Toddler Seat
#19
Here is a photo of the Recaro Child seat that I've had in the IS350 since my Daughter turned one - she's 15 months now and really loves this seat, plus it looks and fits great w/out having to move the seat forward. But yes, a rear-facing child seat is just about out-of-the-question here, and I used my RX for that.
Side curtain air bags are very dangerous for little ones. I suggest you move your car seat into the middle. It sucks that you lose the ability to carry anyone else in the back, but that's the price of safety.

However, it is definitely safer in the middle, just because the seat is further away from any side impact.

But you are correct, the best place for a child is in the middle of a vehicle, but I have the same Recaro seat on the other side for my 4 yr old as well - so that's not an option for me.

I was happy to officially be out of the full sized kids car seats. Now I just have the "booster" type seats for both my kids. Makes it easy to take them in and out of the car for work lunch's.
BTW... Did you guys know that having car seats like that in your car gives you a 1000X higher chance of getting off speeding tickets (for minor 10mph type tickets) at the time when the copper comes to your window. I swear to you I have gotten off many tickets now because of my chairs and the ONE time put them in the trunk (that very day for lunch) I got pulled over and got a ticket. No kidding man, I’m not joking.
