What do you guys think of this set up:

Low Beams: 4300k OEM
Fogs: 8000K HID


I like the yellow but not 100% committed to the color yet. But like the contrast from blue.

hmm... i dunno about 4.3k lows and 8k fogs... i think the contrast will be make the lows look ugly. If you try match the fogs more to the lows like 4k-5k it will look better.

OR...

Just avoid the whole 'matching' by keeping yellow , im asian so... YELLOW POWER!!!

 

haha, I was thinking of that to. I might just get the 3K fogs and then later on replace the bulbs.

According to the post in the GS forum, the purple color was a defective bulb. But i really like the purple haha

 

I am happy with the 5k HID fogs from Mobile HID! Looks perfect and now I have LIGHT!!!

hes right i had 4300 lows and 6k fogs.. made my lows look soo nasty yellow.. i finally got to getting 6k ups and downs.. the colors not matching much but it sure as hell looks 10x better

 

Only way to match perfectly is to get the lows/fogs at the same time from the same vendor and when you run the lows you must always run the fogs at the same time, all the time. If you run the lows for a long time and not the fogs, one day when you put both on the lows/fogs wouldnt have 'aged' together *hope that part made sense*

 

yeah i know.. its diff branded bulbs and plus my ballasts for my fogs are from an RX300 i was debating to go with 3000k soon anyways.. the lighting output sucks! i was used to the 4300 low and fogs.. freakin SUPER visual man lol i might just go back to my 4300 low and 3k fogs for the vision

 

Well I guess it all depends on what your going for, if you want better visibility in rain/fog then yellow would be the choice...But for pure aesthetics, I would try to match the fogs with lows.

 

are the JDM lexus bulbs for the 2IS whiter than the US ones? I was just wondering. anyways, I was going with the 6000k lows and 8000k fogs. I like the contrast but Im thinking the fogs will be too blue. I wanted to make them both 6000k but like the contrast in colors. is 8000k too blue in the fog housing? I hardly use my fogs but I'd like to have a nice blue tinge to it...would the 6000k do it?

I was thinking of going 6000k lows and 3000k fogs because it looks nice but didnt want to go with the tuner look. I like the nice clean white look. plus a lot of people are running that setup...I want to be different and stand out from the rest.

 

I don't even drive w/ the fogs on..personally I think they're a bit annoying and don't light up much at all. But if I had to choose, I'd go with the closest to whatever shade of light output your low beam is producing..the yellow thing is a bit off to me.
