Anyone used 9005 bulbs in fogs?
I have 9005 silverstar ultras in the fogs on my Grand Cherokee and was wondering if anyone has done this on their IS? I know you may have to trim one of the tabs...but will it harm the lense? I am guessing no...but wondering if someone knows.

Ive been using 9005 (silverstar) for 2yrs, no problem at all.
I dont know if it will hurm the lense or not.
Only reason I'm using 9005 because I had some spares from my SC400.
I'm planning to swithch with HID fog soon.
hope it helps

i ran 9005 bulbs in my integra back in the days. they were pretty darn bright but burned out in less than a year. from what i could tell it didn't damage the wiring or melt the housing. i dunno about running it in our fogs since they're reflector housings rather than projectors. you might blind oncoming traffic.

sorry guys...wasnt being cheap. I wanted the most light output I could get. I just bought a set of silverstar ultras in 9005 and 9006 to try both. I know from modding other vehicles that 9005 bulbs will fit in 9006 housings with just a slight trim. This is my wifes vehicle and she has trouble seeing at night. But I dont want to blind oncoming drivers either. Her is250 has the oem HID's.
