I drive 36 miles to work one way and I am just worrying about the car to much where I park it, trying not to drive close others (so I don’t get rock chips) etc. It just seems like more headache then fun now. Want to sell it for a cheap TC or Corolla to drive to work with.
The IS is a nice car, but it's not an exotic. Drive it and enjoy it - dents and rock chips happen no matter what you drive, don't let it dictate your experience.

for the options and conditions you listed, i would say you can get 24-25k. list it for 26k and let them haggle you.
IMO dont sell it. a new tc is around 20k with options, and trust me after having a lexus your going to want those options in the tc. factor in taxes and that leaves you with about 2k AT MOST in profit. so the real question is 2k worth driving a car you do not enjoy nor looks particularly good for the next 4 years?

Coming from a Scion TC to a IS250 you should stay with the IS . The rattles well get to you after a while in the TC .. The one thing i did not like most of the TC was that if you where making a turn left or right in a elevated surface like a drive way the glass would sound like it would crack . Dealers never figured out what the issue was .. Here's the forum i was in before when i had my TC . You can probably find one pretty low on their on price and modified if thats what your looking for .

I had 07 scion TC 2 years ago and I could hear cracking sound from the sunroof. When I drive it with sunroof open, it has cracking sound. Dealer " ARDMORE TOYOTA in PA" could hear that sound, but they won't fix it. WTF.
I sold that shxt and bought 08 Acura RDX..

It's been more than 60 days and I'm still waiting for my IS350. The dealer said it would be between 90 and 120 days, so I figure I still have some time left. He also tells me there is still no VIN number, so I just want to ask you guys why is this process soo long?

The factory builds cars in batches. That is the most simple explanation I can give.

Price check on used IS250 2007
Im about to purchase a CPO is250 awd. Its a 2007 with 34K on it. it has nav, backup camera, sunshade and all other options. Dealer is asking 27,995. He is going to give me $2500 for my trade (which is an old beat LS400) and I am putting 5k down. The CPO gives me a 3yr 100K mile warranty. Is this a good deal or should I pass?
thanks for any feedback. i am calling on it today.

The 100K warranty is probably only powertrain, so be sure to ask what the bumper to bumper warranty is (if it still exists). 28K is a good deal, but I would try to grind him further if possible.

Lexus CPO warranty is quite extensive (and is not only powertrain):
This warranty also provides a complimentary loaner car, Roadside Assistance[1] and Trip Interruption Service coverage as described in the Stellar Coverage.
It is valid for three years or 100,000 total vehicle miles from your date of purchase, whichever comes first.
No deductible. Repairs made under this warranty will be at no cost to you.
This warranty covers any repair or replacement of components that fail under normal use due to a defect in materials or workmanship except as set forth under "Exclusions."
* Engine
* Transmission
* Final Drives and Axles
(Front-Wheel Drive)
* Rear-Wheel Drive
* Steering
* Brakes
(Excluding Rotors and Pads)
* Fuel System
* Cooling
* AC and Heating Systems
* Electrical
* Computer
* Restraint Systems
* Accessories and Controls
* Wheels

Im an new IS owner
Well I bought the car. They gave me $2500 for my rusty 93 ls400 with over 200,000 miles. I couldn't pass it up. I put 5k down so it worked out to be around 23K (the $2500 went to pay the taxes).
My wife will be the primary driver, except in the winter when she needs the SUV to get to work. I drive a motorcycle spring to fall (when its not raining) so this will help keep the miles off the SUV (and the gas costs down).
Thanks for the info on the CPO warranty. They were not very clear on what was covered. But explained that is was basically like buying a new car. Oh and the first oil change is free.

I just bought an IS250 AWD fully loaded with 27k miles for about $27,700 tax included. Even though it was from the dealer it wasnt CPO. The bumper to bumper warrenty is just about up. But the powertrain I have another 2 years left. Of course you can buy it a little cheaper from an independent person. But then you have to sit and wait for a seller. Punch in the numbers on kelleybluebook. The price they are charging you is about right.

Congrats on the IS250 AWD, sound like a good deal. Being a CPO 2007 (not a 2006) and AWD adds value in your occasionally snowy state.
Yes, the CPO warranty treatment is just like the treatment of a new car customer, it's very good. (I have a 07 IS350 purchased CPO).
Enjoy the car, and expect some good info on CL when you have questions.

I'd say you got a pretty good deal provided it is a CPO auto, has a clean history, and is covered under a warrantee. My lexus went for over 30k and had around 34k miles when I bought it from the Lexus dealership. Of course, I negotiated the asking price down more than 4k and got a pretty good trade in for my old gs, otherwise I'd looked at other cars.
I'm a happy camper for now, and hope you'll be too. You'll love the car as long as you don't plan to race against an Altima or something.

nope no racing for me...at least not in my cars. Thats what I have the Honda CBR for
The AWD is really what sold me. I looked at other AWD vehicles, but they either drove like a box or had NO options. The IS was fully loaded. More than the salesman even knew..hahaha
