Not so safe?! How so? I think the tight fit adds to the safety.

The combined protection of this seat with the awesome handling and accident avoidance nannies of the 2IS make for one of the safest vehicles possible for a baby IMHO.

good points!! I am considering in the purchase of the new SUV. My wife is short and tiny so that is the other issue was getting into the center of the car/suv. The RDX we had for a few days works out pretty good all around. I don't find it to be the best looking SUV on the street but many do not grab my attn. I just need to wash my hands of the IS and move on. keep holding on by a thread as she doesn't want me to get rid of the car. we both enjoy it but 2 cars that offer the same small space like the IS doesn't make sense to me. I just need to find time to get the stuff off my car and go get it done and over with. before I know it the little one will be here I want more of a performance car anyway so it will give me a reason to get something in the next year that I will really enjoy!

again thank you for your input and pics! Very much appreciated

With all the reports and studies today, I think you would have heard about it if the outboard seats were dangerous b/c of side airbags. What would people with more than one kid do??

The bottom line is that we are all or will be concerned parents.

My wife did complain about the baby seat being in the center as it made it hard to load unload the baby in the seat.

We decided to leave the seat/base in the car permently and just load/unload the child only. He is still heavy but you don't have the extra weight of the baby seat to deal with.

We got a second seat/base from the same brand and installed it in our other vehcile so that the seats can be interchangable as needed.
