alright so after about 10 runs he came to realize my car was faster off the line.. we used this old road that no body drive on.. took turns doing the 3 honk then go.. i beat him everytime.. he tried different launches and i just left my car the same every time.. all tires at 35psi.. did the pedal dance.. brak torque barely.. had the rpms sitting at 1000 and foot barly on the brake... let off the brake and smashed the gas on the third honk

i would pull about 1 car within 30mph and then by 85mph i was about 1 1/2 cars ahead... so barely beat him.. but we did some 20 rolls and some 40 rolls.. 20 we sat about even until needing to brake.. but at the 40 roll.. he would slowly inch by inch gain on me.. im sure at highway speeds he would pull on me pretty good withall that hp.. i will get a video next week!

If you're really looking for some, I can think of a few, but you gotta go out to the boonies.

Wow good kill. I would have been the first to say the 350 has no chance against the M5. I'm glad I am wrong.

Is this really important, whether you beat him or not? What does it really matter?...especially as it appears to be decided on a public road, even though it is lightly travelled.
If indeed it is that important, why not be responsible and conduct these comparisons on a closed track. Something to cogitate about.

I can understand the IS 350 launching better, its simply brake torque and mash the gas.
What I don't understand is how you kept a 1 1/2 car lead, b/c the higher the speed, well the 400hp should easily overtake you.

Your "at a roll" findings seem accurate.

Not doubting you at all, good runs. I raced a M5 to my limiter in my old GS 400 (that means 152mph) and he whooped my *** like no tomorrow, lol.

Now that I think about it, having raced IS 350s at the 1/4 mile and seeing M5s and IS 350s run pretty much the same times, I can see this happening.

is it important.. to you maybe no, to me yes..
the street it traveled almost never.. with only one intrance.. its a dead end..
i had a buddy in his mustang sit at the end making sure no cars could enter.. and if they ever did.. he would have started honking... but no cars ever came

the strip is over a 1/4 mile, but theres a small dip up ahead and it narrows a little bit.. so after about 85mph we slow down just to be on the safer side of things

yea maybe i just pulled 1 1/2 cars in the 0-30 range.. and then just kept it up until 85, .. but a 1/4 mile im sure we would of almost caught back up and any further he would of pulled ahead

I'm the guy with the M5. Yea, Blake beat me off the line basically every time. The stretch that we actually ran on was maybe an 1/8. If we went the 1/4 I would probably catch up if not pass him. But we'll see when he puts the full exhaust on.

O and Blake, you werent 1 1/2 cars ahead...that was when I couldn't get traction or blew the launch . I have to get used to these tires, my old ones were different and could take more of a beating without spinning.

We'll take a vid next time...I've got a tripod.
